Help make downtown Cambridge fun, festive and full of fall spirit!
Create a scarecrow and display it downtown during the Fall Festival and throughout the following week!
This is open to businesses, organizations, schools, churches families and individuals.

Rules & Guidelines
Eligibility
- The contest is open to businesses, organizations, churches, schools, scout troops, clubs, families, and individuals.
- There is no entry fee.
- Participants must register with Cambridge Main Street before the registration deadline.
Display Dates
- Scarecrows must be installed by Friday, October 2, 2026.
- Displays should remain in place through Sunday, October 11, 2026.
- Participants are responsible for removing their display after the contest.
Display Requirements
- Scarecrows must be displayed along Wheeling Ave from 5th Street to 11th Street in downtown Cambridge.
- Displays should be securely anchored and able to withstand normal fall weather.
- Decorations may be handmade or purchased.
- Creativity is encouraged!
Safety
- Displays may not block sidewalks, entrances, ADA access, streets, or parking spaces.
- Electrical components, if used, must be rated for outdoor use and safely installed.
- No open flames or hazardous materials are permitted.
Appropriate Content
- Displays must be family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
- No political messages, offensive language, discriminatory content, or graphic imagery.
- Cambridge Main Street reserves the right to request changes or remove displays that do not meet these guidelines.
Judging & Voting
- Community voting will take place October 3–11.
- One vote per person
- Winners will be announced on October 12, 2026.
Photos & Promotion
- By entering, participants grant Cambridge Main Street permission to photograph and use images of their scarecrow for promotional and marketing purposes.
Liability
- Participants assume responsibility for their display.
- Cambridge Main Street is not responsible for damage caused by weather, theft, vandalism, or accidents.
