SUMMARY:Scarecrow Decorating Contest
DESCRIPTION:Help make downtown Cambridge fun\, festive and full of fall spirit! \nCreate a scarecrow and display it downtown during the Fall Festival and throughout the following week! \nThis is open to businesses\, organizations\, schools\, churches families and individuals. \nTo register to participate fill out the entry form here: Cambridge Main Street Scarecrow Registration Form \nRules & Guidelines \nEligibility \n\nThe contest is open to businesses\, organizations\, churches\, schools\, scout troops\, clubs\, families\, and individuals.\nThere is no entry fee.\nParticipants must register with Cambridge Main Street before the registration deadline.\n\nDisplay Dates \n\nScarecrows must be installed by Friday\, October 2\, 2026.\nDisplays should remain in place through Sunday\, October 11\, 2026.\nParticipants are responsible for removing their display after the contest.\n\nDisplay Requirements \n\nScarecrows must be displayed along Wheeling Ave from 5th Street to 11th Street in downtown Cambridge.\nDisplays should be securely anchored and able to withstand normal fall weather.\nDecorations may be handmade or purchased.\nCreativity is encouraged!\n\nSafety \n\nDisplays may not block sidewalks\, entrances\, ADA access\, streets\, or parking spaces.\nElectrical components\, if used\, must be rated for outdoor use and safely installed.\nNo open flames or hazardous materials are permitted.\n\nAppropriate Content \n\nDisplays must be family-friendly and suitable for all ages.\nNo political messages\, offensive language\, discriminatory content\, or graphic imagery.\nCambridge Main Street reserves the right to request changes or remove displays that do not meet these guidelines.\n\nJudging & Voting \n\nCommunity voting will take place October 3–11.\nOne vote per person\nWinners will be announced on October 12\, 2026.\n\nPhotos & Promotion \n\nBy entering\, participants grant Cambridge Main Street permission to photograph and use images of their scarecrow for promotional and marketing purposes.\n\nLiability \n\nParticipants assume responsibility for their display.\nCambridge Main Street is not responsible for damage caused by weather\, theft\, vandalism\, or accidents.
